[ There's a poisonous lake? It's about the same thing as an ocean. ]
...Yeah. It feels like such a long time ago.
[ She says it fondly, but the more she thinks about it, the memories themselves weren't all that fond. There was a lot of screaming, she recalls, a lot of running and her yelling at Terry and at one point or another she fell off the stairs and got crushed by some loose rock? A raccoon almost took out Terry's eyeballs.
She laughs a little at that. One of those tired, despairing laughs. ]
Yeah, I can't believe that was little over a month ago. It feels so much longer... We learned some things and some other stuff changed too.
[ He remembers a bunch of things that happened on that day... in hindsight, some of those moments could have really been avoided, and it could have been done differently, but they're here right now as a result of those choices. ]
[ Things and stuff is really putting it lightly, but it sure was a lot in a short amount of time. Even when she wanted to give herself some praise for being able to stand on her own two feet and fall into a routine, it never turned out that way and it feels like she's been tripping and stumbling on ever other step to get where she is right now, walking back to where it all began. ]
Mmhm. We're in this together, so... I'm real glad I met you.
[ As opposed to like. Kokichi. If Kido's first experience waking up in that castle were limited to just Kokichi, Neku, and/or Red, that castle would have been leveled the first day here and nobody would ever be able to get home, Kido would have immediately bad ended this game.
[ Damn, Kido... let's not bad end the entire game within a month...
Terry's heart feel full from hearing that, and honestly, he feels the same. From the first day they met to where they are now, his view on her wasn't all that different--she was cool, and a bit violent but he always trusted her despite everything because he knew she was always doing her best. ]
I'm... really glad to hear that. I'm happy to have met you too, Kido.
[ He wants to say more, but he stops himself there. Maybe he can say those words another day if he no longer feels scared of saying them. Anxiety spikes in his heart, and it's not just from his heart already beating fast either.
All he can see is darkness in this endless void, but he feels a little less lonely. ]
[ It's really too bad that we're going into endgame next month because Ichi rolled negative emotions for Kido and she's going to be out for blood.
The smile on Kido's face spreads when she hears that, because it's such a far cry from how she'd grown up— unwelcome and unwanted and scorned for simply existing- and things got better, then worse, and better and worse again, but things always get better again and she's glad she held on. ]
Guess I've got lots to be thankful for at the shrine, huh? It's not so bad being stuck here.
[ She'll take the lead now, pulling him towards the shrine, and we can fast forward or end the thread here or whichever you want Haki! ]
Terry stays quiet as he follows Kido to the shrine, miraculously walking up the steps while he's blind, but there's a smile on his face throughout the time he spends with Kido. Even if they get to see the area from a higher point of view, Terry won't be able to see it, but honestly, he's fine with that. It's times like these that make him feel glad that he's still alive today, that he didn't give up on forsaking his purpose for existing, and that he has things to call his own--things that were never in his original's possession to begin with.
And that makes him happy right now.
