[ They're shiny and pretty and honestly, it might be a smarter idea to just save the stones for returning home, rather than tossing them out here in the shrine for an absent god, especially when RO brings that possibility up. ]
If this is a shrine for that bastard, it's no wonder the place got trashed and left forgotten. That place is probably his too, if that's really what it is.
[ "That place" being the castle Kido nods her head towards, semi-visible from the higher ground of the shrine. ]
What's up with that? Killing a monster, taking his charm and returning it to his own castle? And somehow that lets us go home?
We would also need three more. Perhaps they are related to him somehow... though, again, these are mere guesses based on similar structures. I don't have any other evidence to support my claim.
[ She can't really question much about the weirder things happening here anymore. ]
Guesses are better than anything else we've got, so we should take them and do what we can, even without evidence. At least there's not too much around here that seems large enough to turn into a... monster house.
[ God, she hates calling it that, but it gets the point across. ]
The school's pretty big, with its three buildings. The castle too. The hospital or the library is pretty large?
He did say to think about "strange" locations. I was thinking the lake and the inn... the shrine would have made a good location as well, but if nobody else comes here to claim it as such, I suppose that wouldn't work out...
[ ... ]
Though I am wary of those for several reasons.
[ Would the lake part like the Nile?? All that toxic water?? ]
[ She would take toxic lake water over haunted inns, thank you very much. And it makes her feel really unsure about everything, because as much as she wants to go home, all it takes is a ghost or a monster to jump out at her and she's prone to freaking out, at the very least, or passing out if she's having a really bad day, and neither of those are great to have happen in a place as dangerous as this. ]
Wherever it is next, if there's another Tengu thing in there, we should try to get him to spill the beans on where the other two are.
... If it happens to be much stronger than the one we faced, we need to get stronger in due time. I wonder if bonding with our Personas could help them out somehow in terms of combat efficiency... Perhaps they take in bond levels...?
[ You'd think something born from your heart would have powerups with sappy things. ]
Bond levels...? You're really incorporating that D&D book into your lexicon, huh.
[ Somehow she really doubts that her petting her ghost cat sometimes makes it any stronger, but it's hard to gauge when your Persona's stupidly strong and yet you never fight with it and so you can't tell. ]
Kurusu did say something about that, though, how you have to get along with your Persona in order to use it the most efficiently. Which makes sense, otherwise they could attack, and they're the stronger ones.
[ Ugh. It looks like she didn't completely erase all of what she took in from that D&D book and she's actually pretty embarrassed about it. ]
... My apologies, but yes. What that person says seems to have the right idea. I don't have any idea as to how I could go about this either. I feel... stuck.
[ Kido almost laughs when RO apologizes, because she thought it was funny— but maybe for the same reason that RO is embarrassed by it. She should never tell Kido she erased all that D&D knowledge because Kido was hoping she'd be able to chat with Wyatt sometimes; it's very important information, definitely worth storing. ]
I think as long as you're out there with your Persona, they'll get stronger? I have mine just watch sometimes, when I don't want to get in the way of another person's battle, and that seems to help too.
[ Kido nods, because it's a method that works for her as much as it does her Persona, as somebody willing to lead and make decisions but less of the actual fighting and execution. ]
Give her some time, and she'll pick new things up. Nekogami's been surprising me with new ways of attacking too, and nothing's stopping you from kicking a monster in the face if that's what you need to do.
[ Yeah, she's done that already--stomping on a frozen raven to get it out of the way. Pleasant. Defense debuffs are amazing... But she won't outright say that, since it seems that Kido's easily the type to get worried, even if she said that it's fine to do it if she had to. ]
I wonder what will happen if two Personas merge their attacks together... perhaps like a spell combo...
[ Wyatt would've loved her. At least it's easier to follow what RO is saying, than it was everything that Wyatt through at Kido, so she at least gives it a second's thought. ]
Logically... I think it might work? Nekogami can create ice, but it can only hit one monster at a time. If another Persona can shatter the ice and have a gust of wind blow the ice around, it would be able to cause damage in a greater area...? That would be pretty cool, wouldn't it?
[ It's not as fancy as Armageddon, but it's... something. A spell combo to effectively make hail. ]
I think that would create a wide arrange of strategic plans. Once my Persona acquires some offensive magic, I would like to try some out with you too. It would be a sight to see, as you said.
[ But will she? idk. I'll have to think on that later. RO looks pretty eager to do this though, even smiling as she does so. ]
[ Let RO smile more... Her smile makes Kido do so too, nodding as she steps back from the offertory box to look out at the forest, town and lake just barely visible in the distance. ]
I'd like that. One person can't do everything by themselves, so learning how to work together in that sort of way should be very useful.
I think it would also allow for the more creative people to shine in that category as well.
[ Minato and Souji aren't the only ones who want people to think for themselves sometimes... She also looks out at the forest. The lake sure is just a speck in the distance. ]
Humans are quite innovative, after all. I believe that's what causes progression--they always want to create better works.
[ Honestly, Kido's strategy would be to just roundhouse kick every Shadow in the face if she were strong enough to do so. Her Persona isn't too versatile anyways, despite being pretty strong by now. ]
It's not the same for you? Being innovative and wanting to improve? I would've thought so, just from watching you and speaking with you.
Unfortunately, I have my limits. I can say that I do want to improve, but I am not sure if I can. Once I reach my maximum efficiency and such, I don't think it can ever get better.
I wouldn't call it an improvement when it's stored as something that I was always been able to do in the first place, but couldn't act upon for one reason or another.
[ RO frowns after saying that though, because she's not sure how to articulate how she feels. ]
It's pretty difficult, yeah... I think most people would say they're capable of anything, but working their way towards that still counts as improvement.
[ Isn't that how it is? Anybody can do anything, as long as they put their mind to it, or something idealistic like that. ]
[ something something I can do anything if I keep at it
RO considers that, but it seems like she views hers and that differently. ]
I suppose.
[ She won't argue with that. ]
I still feel as if I'm a step behind, so I feel that I need to make up for it by doing more things in the place of someone else. [ It's a very "my teammate is slacking off so I need to pick up the slack" kind of mindset she has right now. ]
Ha, well... We're all sort of stumbling our way through everything going on here, but that's why we should stick together, make up for one another's shortcomings.
[ When will Kido have a gang she can walk around with and have them do everything while she sits around being the figurehead boss? Why are both my characters like this, actually, I was trying to get away from my usual character type and instead it's like I'm playing two Minatos. ]
[ rip card... at least that's only few things in common like kido wouldn't hesitate to punch someone while minato doesn't feel like doing anything, period. ]
It would be nice if we were all coordinated in a team...
[ They're not fond memories, but RO thinks about her mission team.
...
Her canon is not a happy place, but it sure felt like she belonged there. ]
Kind of hard to coordinate at all when most people don't have phones or another way to contact one another. And... actually, I don't think they'd work when it gets all dark anyways, since nothing else does.
[ What they need is a Navigator who can beam thoughts into people's heads. Seto could probably do something like that. Maybe RO with her microphone yelling across the dungeons is the best they've got. ]
